15 Daily Habits to Keep Your Home Clean and Clutter-Free

Keep a shoe rack at the entrance or at the foyer of the home. If you’re a person who finds it difficult to stare barefoot then always keep a separate clean slipper for strictly home usage which you should not wear outside place.

2. Use Foot Mats

Keep foot mats all around the house in areas like home entrance, outside bathrooms, in the kitchen and utility area. This way you leave no chance for dust to come inside the house through your shoes.

3. Dusting Routine

A very simple easy to follow habit is a dusting routine to keep the house clean. One tip we would like to add here is to use microfiber glove to easy dusting efforts. Try to follow the dusting routine at least twice a week.

4. Use Liners in Drawers and Cabinets

Paper clutter is the most annoying thing every one of us struggles to deal with it, especially with grocery and shopping bills as we keep them for at least a month in case we need them for exchange or return. 

So, to avoid the mess make a proper place to collect all the receipts and bills that can be one of the drawers in your shoe rack or kitchen trolley, take a zipper bag and label it properly and start storing the bills in it. This not only makes the place cleaner and tidier but also makes it easy to find any bills in the future.

7. Use Coasters

Use coasters on the dining and coffee table to place glasses and cups. Bed stains leave marks and can be difficult to remove especially on the wooden surfaces.

8. Clean Spillages Immediately

Clean up the mess immediately. If you see any spillages anywhere in the house, especially on the dining or coffee table clean immediately before it gets dry. Again, dry stains are difficult to clean and waste your lot of time. So, spending 30-40 seconds instantly can save you hours later.

9. Use Storage Baskets

Use storage baskets in your home. By placing a few baskets here and there, you can clean up and organize the mess in minutes. Beautiful baskets also make the place look organized. Use them to keep remotes to organize stuff on the foyer or to store dining essentials.

Also, keep one empty basket on the corner of the living room and use it when winding up for the day to transfer the items which do not belong to this place.

10. Organize Cleaning Tools

Allocate space for cleaning tools like brooms, wipers, mops, dustpans, etc. They are equally important and need good care. They look messy and get dirty if left on the floor. So, use cloth hanging hook or broom gripper to organize your cleaning tools.

Keep things back to their designated places after coming back home from shopping. Leaving things as it is, will just start adding clutter. So when you come home after shopping empty your shopping bags instantly and keep your handbag at their designated place.

12. Use Vacuum Cleaner

Keep a small vacuum cleaner handy. It really helps. Removing dust and cleaning your rugs, carpets, curtains, mattresses and so forth. 13. One Minute Bathroom Cleaning Routine

To keep your bathroom always clean, keep a small wiper handy. After taking a shower, just wipe off all the water from the glass partition and you’re good to go. By doing this you can avoid water stains on the glass which becomes stubborn and hard to clean after some time.
